This show has come together from a gyrating mix of artists and musicians. All work is a kaleidoscopic mix of different materials placed on a 12” vinyl record, each piece bouncing from one to another.   From urban artists, fine artists, to graphic designers and musicians, all journeying through pulsating imagery of an electric mix of surface materials, scrunched, scratched, painted, sprayed and printed on a record vinyl. The 12” vinyl that we once loved has been brought back to life and gives birth to itself in the name of art. You will never look at a vinyl like the way you did before. It’s a jamboree not to be missed!

‘Just a Phase’ – Santiago Alcon @ DV8 Soho, 50 Old Compton Street, London.

Start Time: Thursday, 30 July at 18:00
End Time: Sunday, 30 August 2009 at 23:00

The work of Spanish born London artist Santiago Alcon is inspired by his experience of everyday life, events and their associated emotions. Different mark-making materials, colour and light combine to create a visual diary of personal moments in time as images on glass and canvas.
This recent set of paintings by Alcon makes reference to the contemporary male. As an artist who also happens to be gay, there is a sense of eroticism, sensuality and exploration in his highly charged art.
“I wanted to experiment with male portraiture derived from intimate relationships and from more anonymous online gay networking sites,” says Alcon.

Join his mailing list at www.santiagoalcon.com for a chance to commission your very own portrait.
