Artists >> Benihoud Hanna
I am an artist and an architect. My practice explores both these worlds and the fascinating space in between. I have no fixed medium working with anything from concrete to helium. The common themes that tie my work together are narrative, exploration of space, human behavior and community engagement. The methodology for my practice is constant regardless of the project. Research, sketch, develop, test, implement, repeat as necessary. I am inspired by the process of making things and passionate about creating spaces for people to experience. The research and development of each project is as important as the final piece, engaging people in the process so everyone is emotionally invested in the final outcome. The repetitive nature of the construction of elements takes a commitment of time, patience and energy, a factory of sorts. This process in turn creates bonds and forges relationships between people.
